A seemingly mortal entertainment lawyer entered the Nevada desert one night only to emerge days later in New York a changed man, a man lusting after the dark seductive nectar that he later dubbed Vampire and boldly so. Many whispers have passed through lips since the beginnings of Vampire, that fateful night in 1985 when our mild-mannered founder entered the desert alone, encountered a stranger, and emerged a connoisseur of all things red and rich. Thus was born Vampire Vineyards.

Despite our fervor for the blood of the vine selling others on the concept of Vampire was, at first, seemingly insurmountable. Like children of the night, we were shunned, sent into darkness to wander alone. We did find daybreak however, in 1988, when we created an Algerian Syrah, but this was not the sunrise we had longed for. No. We dreamt of the day when we could extract the blood of the vine from its most pure source Transylvania. While we waited for our day of days, we continued to create blood of the vine and infiltrate it back into the society that had once shunned us. Quietly, pockets of people with a wild thirst began fueling our sales. Experts in the field such as Anne Rice and Alice Cooper had spawned generations of loyal followers that dreamed of nothing more than sipping from the cup of immortality and this is where we found our niche. In the 1990s we finally saw the sunrise we had yearned for so long to behold.

The world had changed and Romania opened its borders to commerce which meant, Transylvania was within reach. After learning all we could from the motherland we moved our activities to California.

By 2007, Vampire had made its way through the US and it was time to introduce the world to a newer, more mature Vampire. Now with the ability to boast an assortment ranging from Cabernet Sauvignon to Merlot, and even a Pinot Grigio Vampire has a firm hold on the North American Market.

Murmurs of our founder himself being a puppet for a vampire ring thriving in America and abroad has only fueled the interest in the Vampire brand. If youve always dreamt of being turned, forlorn and bidden to walk by night then Vampire is the answer. Will it turn you? We arent permitted to divulge, but we do recommend the Trueblood or perhaps the Chateau du Vampire?
