Rostam Batmanglij, Formerly of Vampire Weekend, Announces Run of Northeast Tour Dates – Paste Magazine

When Rostam Batmanglij left Vampire Weekend last year, it certainly wasnt with the intention of leaving the music world. Since his departure, the multi-instrumentalist and producer has arguably been even more productive than he ever was during his tenure with the indie giants. Now operating as Rostam, he collaborated with The Walkmens Hamilton Leithauser on last years I Had A Dream That You Were Mine and a Spotify playlist of his recent production work, which you can find here, shows that he was in the mix on some of last years best music, including tracks by Frank Ocean, Solange, and Francis and the Lights.

In case you missed it, though, Rostam also released his first songs as a solo artist and took the lush production and arranging style he had honed with Vampire Weekendinto new territory with his own songwriting on tracks like Wood, Gravity Dont Pull Me and EOS, and now hes preparing to take his solo show on the road.

Today, Rostam announced a mini-tour of the Northeast, where he will be premiering new material alongside those previously released tracks. Following a pair of performances last year, this marks Rostams first significant live outing and it will be exciting to see what, and who, he brings with him. Tickets are available via his website.

See the tour dates below, find photos from Hamilton Leithauser and Rostams debut show here and check out a session Vampire Weekendplayed for Daytrotter back in 2007 via the Paste Cloud.
