Norman Reedus Has An Idea About How He Wants Daryl To Leave ‘The Walking Dead’, And It’s Hilarious – moviepilot.com

The Walking Dead is a really interesting situation as far as plot goes, because it doesn't have a conventional story structure. The show deals with a major zombie apocalypse, and with no cure to the outbreak in sight, odds are our beloved group of survivors won't get to have the usual happy TV ending.

That's naturally left plenty of fans (like myself) scratching their heads trying to figure out two things: How the show will end, and how we'll say goodbye to the series' main players. One actor is right there with us and already knows how he'd like his character to go out: #NormanReedus.

The actor sat down for an interview with CNet to discuss his return as #DarylDixon for Season 8 of the hit series. When asked to interpret his own death scene, the actor offered this strangely fascinating answer in classic Norman Reedus humor:

"I think you'd see a sunset. I would walk up over a hill and then a little wolf puppy would come out of the woods and follow me up. And people would just go, 'Whatever happened to that guy?'"

...Yep, classic Daryl. Only he would suggest to go out as a forgotten plot point. Except with his own future direwolf. But you know what? It may be insane, but I could definitely see that working for the character. We've been taken through a pretty emotional journey with Daryl.

He started out as a grumpy, emotionally-detached individual. But in a true showing of character growth, he evolved, learned to open up, and eventually accepted the fact that the group of survivors in front of him were his family. With that in mind, how hilariously unexpected would the show forgetting him be?

#AndrewLincoln also has a pretty sweet idea for #RickGrimes' swan song. Lincoln attended PaleyFest back in March, and during the #AMC panel, he went into detail explaining what he'd like Rick's last moments to be like:

We're going through the desert somewhere, and I jump off the bus. Rick jumps off [and yells] 'Carrrrrlll!' Maybe that's the last thing I say! I jump off, and I'm, like, kung-fu kicking. You know, earn my action figure, right?. Halfway through, I get bit. 'Ow!' Doesnt matter; keep going; 'Carrrrrlll!'... I'm dying, on my own, just waiting to die. I wait, and I patch up, and a day passes... But I don't die. The final shot is, 'Holy shit! Maybe I'm the cure!' Final shot of the whole thing: high shot, herd of zombies coming. Rick gets up, follows the tracks to go see 'Carrrrlllll!' High shot of this, walking the herd comes toward him, and they separate. He walks through. BOOM!"

Well, Daryl and Rick are practically brothers, so it makes they'd have equally theatrical exits from the show in mind. Granted, it doesn't look like they'll get to say their goodbyes to the sprawling world of walkers anytime soon. Earlier this year, showrunner Scott M. Gimple joked that The Walking Dead still has over two decades worth of gas left in the metaphorical tank:

"Hopefully, We are trying to do twenty years. The [Walking Dead] comic has certainly done it, and I look forward to every issue. 'The Simpsons' has been on 26, 27 years, so thats a challenge so OK, challenge accepted. Done."

With Daryl and Rick being practically at the wheel of the show, it looks like the two are sticking around for the long haul.
