MAGGIE Rhee will return to The Walking Dead later this year, but could she be the allied communities downfall?

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) left the AMC zombie drama enraged about the mercy shown to the nefarious Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Negan infamously beat Maggies partner Glenn (Steven Yeun) to death with a baseball bat in one of the shows most brutal scenes to date.

Maggie vowed to kill Negan in return and was distraught when Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) instead decided to incarcerate him after defeating The Saviours.

Consumed with grief, fans watched as her previously sunny disposition faded and she took on a more authoritative, colder persona to lead Hilltop.

She sentenced Gregory (Xander Berkeley) to death after a botched assassination attempt, despite the pleas of Jesus (Tom Payne), proving she wasnt to be messed with.

However, if Maggie takes up her feud with Negan when she makes her return, she risks endangering the lives of her old friends.

After fleeing Alexandria, Negan infiltrated The Whisperers and managed to gain the trust of Alpha (Samantha Morton).

In the Robert Kirkman comics upon which the show is based, this culminates in him betraying the masked faction and decapitating Alpha.

As such, if Maggie intervenes, she risks handing victory to The Whisperers, who are currently on top having lured the likes of Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) into an underground trap.

I feel depending on whether or not the rest of Season 10/going into Season 11 turns out and follows the comics where Negan kills Alpha to try and gain everyone's trust, I feel like it would be a great opportunity for Maggie and Negan to have another confrontation, they wrote.

One that matches more with the dialogue in the comics, especially Maggie's lines where she talks about how Glenn's death is always playing through her eyes and all of her happy memories with him keep fading away, they continued.

I truly feel like Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan could pull a scene like that off.

Either way, Maggie's reaction to Negan being out of his cell will definitely be something to see.
