Although today Emma Stone is considered to be one of Hollywoods biggest stars, that wasnt always the case. In recent years, Stone has garnered critical acclaim for her roles as Mia Dolan in Damien Chazelles musical masterpiece La La Land and for her portrayal of Abigail Masham in Yorgos Lanthimos offbeat period comedy The Favourite. However, Stone has featured in a few films that both fans of the actress and critics alike would love to forget.

Its not surprising, considering Stone has been acting for over 15 years and has starred in over 20 filmsshes bound to stumble in some places. Without further ado, below are the 10 worst Emma Stone movies according to IMDb.
Emma Stones least bad film on this list, according to IMDb, is The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Acting as the sequel to 2012s The Amazing Spider-Man, both critics and fans werent feeling very pleased with the film. This was mostly due to the fact that the storyline was overstuffed with too many plotlines with no real backbone to keep it up.
Stone returned as Gwen Stacy to star alongside her then-boyfriend Andrew Garfield, who portrays the titular superhero. Sony was planning for a third installment to The Amazing Spider-Man. However, it was axed after the character joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In 2015, Stone appeared as one of the leads in Woody Allens Irrational Man alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Parker Posey, and Joe Stapleton. Although the film was backed by Allan, an industry heavyweight, and a slew of A-list actors, the film was not well-received by fans nor critics.
The drama centers on a tormented philosophy professor (Phoenix) who is both a womanizer and an alcoholic. However, when he becomes involved with one of his students, Jill Pollard (Stone), both their livesundergo a big change.
Before Stone starred in the hit Easy A, she landed a leading role as 17-year-old Abby in the indie film Paper Man. The film centers on a struggling writer (Jeff Daniels) who looks to his imaginary friends, along with Stones character, to help him get by. Ryan Reynolds also stars the imaginary Captain Excellent.

The film was so bad that it still has not been released in any home video format in the United States.
Although many would agree that Friends with Benefits was better than the very similar No Strings Attachedboth films also happened to release in 2011it failed to garner solid ratings for its very predictable storyline.
Stone has a very blink-or-youll-miss-it appearance in the film, albeit a very memorable one. She portrays Kayla, one of Dylans (portrayed by Justin Timberlake) girlfriends, who is obsessed with John Mayer. She ends up breaking up with Dylan because she missed Mayer playing Your Body Is a Wonderland live.
Besides Irrational Man, Stone also starred in another one of Woody Allens projects, Magic in the Moonlight, which unfortunately also made this list of her worst films.
In the movie, Stone plays psychic Sophie Baker opposite Colin Firths clairvoyant nay-sayer Stanley Crawford. Magic in the Moonlight was a complete bust for the lack of chemistry seen between the two leads, who were supposedly in love.
Following after Superbad, The Rocker was only Stones second-ever Hollywood film. Unlike her part in Superbad, which put her on top of a bevy of up-and-coming lists, The Rocker took her career a few steps back.

The film centers on a washed-up drummer (Rainn Wilson) who is given a second chance at becoming a worldwide superstar. Stone appears as Amelie, a fellow bandmate who also dreams of becoming famous.
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past was supposed to be a witty take on the literary classic A Christmas Carol. However, it turned out to be a box office bomb. Starring Matthew McConaughey as a serial womanizer in the lead role, the film centers on his character as he becomes haunted by his past relationships.
Stones role is very minor here, and she shows up as a very permed ex-girlfriend of McConaugheys character.
When The House Bunny came out, Anna Faris was still riding her Scary Movie and Friends fame. But, unlike the aforementioned projects, The House Bunny got less than stellar reviews.

On the other hand, this film marked one of Stones first major roles and cemented her as a rising comedy star. Stone stars as a virginal sorority sister who takes in a former Playboy bunny (Faris) to become the sororitys house mother. The House Bunny came out in the same weekend as Stones other film The Rocker and managed to open at #2.
In 2015, Stone starred opposite Bradley Cooper in Cameron Crowes Aloha. Unfortunately, she faced a lot of criticism for taking on the role of Allison Ng, who was supposed to be one-quarter Chinese and one-quarter Hawaiian. Along with being criticized for whitewashing, the films storyline also came under fire for being a mess. The film centers on a defense contractor (Cooper) who returns to his home in Hawaii to help stop a satellite launch.
Topping the list of worst Emma Stone movies according to IMDb is Movie 43. Although seemingly unique, the plot of Movie 43 didnt sit well with critics, most of whom described the film as utterly disgusting. The R-rated movie features a series of interconnected short films as a producer pitches his ideas to the likes of Gerard Butler, Anna Faris, Hugh Jackman, and more. Stone makes a brief appearance as Veronica.
