Walking Dead: World Beyond: New, Action-Filled Teaser Shows Zombies Aren’t the Only Threat – CBR – Comic Book Resources

The newest teaser for AMC's The Walking Dead: World Beyond features the young protagonists facing both the undead and the living.

AMC has released a new teaser forThe Walking Dead: World Beyond that shows, even during a zombie apocalypse, one of humanity's biggest threats is other humans.

The clip features the cast of young protagonists contending not only with the undead but with the living as they navigate the titular world beyond.

Series creators Scott Gimple, Robert Kirkman and Matt Negrete have indicated in the past that World Beyond, like Fear The Walking Dead, will help to shed light on different corners of the universe. In doing so, it appears that the world of the upcoming spinoff may differ in the details from what audiences are familiar with. "Walkers," for example, will be referred to in the series as "empties."

The Walking Dead: World Beyond expands the universe of The Walking Dead, delving into a new mythology and story that follows the first generation raised in a surviving civilization of the post-apocalyptic world. Two sisters along with two friends leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest. Pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them, a tale of growing up and transformation unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves and each other. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. But all of them will find the truths they seek.

Created by Scott Gimple, Robert Kirkman and Matt Negrete, The Walking Dead: World Beyond stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Nico Tortorella. The series debuts Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.
