The Glenn Rhee actor met a grisly demise in the Season 7 finale of The Walking Dead

For those of you who watched The Walking Dead up till the Season 7 finale, you will understand the outrage caused.

Some viewers even thought that was the last straw and stopped watching the series all-together.

We are of course referring to Glenn Rhee's (Steven Yeun) grisly demise at the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

The fate of Glenn in "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" horrifyingly followed the same storyline in the comics.

When Rick and his group of survivors get held up by the sickening villain and the Saviours, it was Glenn who met the end of Negan's favoured weapon, Lucille.

Speaking to Variety, Steven Yeun told the publication that he has "no hard feelings".

The Walking Dead star said: Leaving [the show], if I had any weird feelings about it, was mostly that I hadnt taken the time for myself to understand who I was and maybe my voice and what I wanted to say.

I was always kind of in service to this larger narrative. And in some ways that reflects kind of how I was raised in my early years. I think Im done. I think I want to try the other side.

The post-apocalyptic horror drama, now in its tenth season, ranked the top-rated cable drama on US TV for the 2019-20 season.

Although ratings have dipped in and out through the years The Walking Dead is still going strong.

And Steven Yeun remembers his role and his time with the cast fondly.

He added: I think for me it was a massive blessing to get Walking Dead because not only did I meet incredible people that taught me some incredible ways to navigate life to be a professional, to be an actor, to take a job seriously but also just submit to a beast such as Walking Dead."
