Chris told his audience on Sunday night in Phoenix that heturned down an offer to host the 2023Oscars. He said going back would be like returning to the scene of a crime. He brought up theO.J. In an effort to put some cheeks in the seats, the National Association of Cinema Owners has declared Sunday, September 3rd as National Cinema Day with deep discounts at over 3,000 theatres. Major chains like AMC and Regal Cinemas will offer $3 for every showing in every format that day. Major movie studios will also offer sizzle reels on September 3rd before each movie.

Netflix is being sued for defamation over the miniseriesInventing Anna. The plaintiff isRachel Williams. . . a friend of con artistAnna Sorokin. She was played on the show byKatie Lowes, and shes not a fan of how she was portrayed. Rachel says that basically everything about her on the show is made up, and shes not the greedy, snobbish, disloyal, dishonest, cowardly, manipulative, and opportunistic person they made her out to be. Rachel says, quote, Netflix purposely used my real name, and real aspects of my life, to create a totally false and defamatory characterization of me. The truth matters and portraying real people requires real responsibility. I am filing this lawsuit to hold Netflix accountable for its deliberate recklessness. For the record, the show never tried to hide the fact that it took dramatic liberties. It even carried a disclaimer that said, This story is completely true. Except for the parts that are totally made up.

Speaking of Netflix it has canceled Resident Evil after only one season. Geek Culture says the streamer looked over the numbers and found that the show didnt have enough shelf-life for a second season. The show, based on the popular video game, debuted at no. 2 on Netflix with72.7 million hours viewed for its opening weekend but quickly dropped out of the top ten. Resident Evil has a 27% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

A random list of the 50 worst rappers of all time got attention over the weekend. His top five were Silkk The Shocker at number one, followed by Lil Yachty, Master P, OJ Da Juiceman, and Lil Flip. Dont be surprised to see teams promote and sign practice squad players to their active rosters throughout the 2022 season, as they work to fend off injuries and illness.With that said,how much do you think the average guy on these squads is making, money wise?

Players with two or fewer accrued NFL seasons earn at least $11,500 per week, which equals $207,000 for 18 weeks spent on the practice squad. (A player accrues a season when they are on full-time pay status for at least six regular-season games). Players with two or more accrued seasons make a minimum of $15,400 per week and $277,200 for the whole season. For comparison, the minimum salary for a rookie on an active roster this season is $705,000. Practice squad players CAN be paid more than those minimum figures but their salaries do count against a teams salary cap. If a practice squad player is promoted to the active roster, he earns the prorated minimum salary for a player with his years of experience. So a rookie called up to the active roster ahead of a game would see his pay increased from $11,500 to over $39,000. A player with seven-plus years of experience would earn over $62K a week. If a practice squad player is signed to an active roster of another club, they receive a guarantee of three game checks (LINK)

The NFL increased the size of practice squads to a maximum of 16 players from what used to be 12 ahead of the 2020 season in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the change stuck.

So the players voted Brady the number 1 player in their poll with Mahomes being number 8. BUT ESPN has done their rankings and they were quite different. They say Mahomes is the King. Sorry to kill all the fun, but Cleveland Browns player Martin Emerson, Jr. was NOT walking around with a bunch of weed during Saturdays preseason game as it turns out, it was a bag of sunflower seeds. Of course, some folks and/or trolls on Twitter tried to take a grainy picture of the Browns vs. Chicago Bears broadcast and play it off like Emerson was holding a bag of weed on the bench. The pic quickly made rounds on social media with users cracking their typical Browns jokes for retweets and favorites, and playing it off like the players were getting ready to toke. But, one intrepid account decided to find a much clearer image of the alleged weed and yeah, its definitely a bag of seeds. If you dont believe your eyes, our sources confirm its not marijuana and there were several players clearly chewing in the same clip that made its rounds online. The NFL has softened its stance on weed recently but sunflower seeds, however, are not banned.
