Candyman is an American supernatural horror film. The writer and director of the movie are Bernard Rose and Pictured on the short story, The Forbidden created by Clive Barker.

The plot of the movie follows a Chicago graduate student. Who was completing a thesis on the urban legends which led her to the legend of the Candyman?The ghost of an artist and son of a slave who was murdered in the late 19th century.

Helen Lyle is a graduate student in Chicago. Who is researching the urban? While her research she hears a local story about the Candyman, a horror ghost. One can summon him by saying his name five times to a mirror.

Results, The ghost then appears and kills the summoner. Helen meets the two cleaning ladies. The ladies claimed that it was Candyman who killed Ruthie Jean. A resident in the notorious Cabrini-Green housing project.

Helen then decides to look into the case. Consequently, this leads her to learn about another twenty-five murders like that of Ruthie Jeans. The entire story revolves around suspense and creates a horror atmosphere. What will happen at the end..this is more interesting to see.

There are many characters that contributed their best in making this horror movie. Some important characters are Virginia Madsen as Helen Lyle, Tony Todd as Daniel Robitaille/ Candyman, Kasi Lemmon as Bernadette Walsh, DeJune Guy as Jake, Stanley De Santis as Dr Burke, Ted Raimi as Billy. And yes many more.

The movie was first released on 11 September 1992 in The United States. Candyman was initially released theatrically under the production of TriStar Pictures and PolyGram Filmed Entertainment on October 16, 1992.

It was followed by two sequels, Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh screened in 1995and Candyman: Day of the Dead released in 1997, with a spiritual sequel of the same name set for release in 2020. Candyman is a contemporary classic of horror cinema. The movie is full of thrills and portraying a real-life incident.
