CHEBOYGAN, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)-- A horror film set to be released in October is filming right here in northern Michigan.

The movie, titled "Crepitus", is filming entirely in the community of Cheboygan.

Filming has already started, but the remainder of the shoot will continue in the spring/early summer in Cheboygan.

According to the movie's Facebook page, "Crepitus" follows 17-year-old Elizabeth and her younger sister, Sam, who learn horrible things about their family history while living in their deceased grandfather's house. While living at the house, the sisters are haunted by a cannibalistic clown named Crepitus.

The film will star Bill Moseley, who is best known for his roles as Otis in "The Devils' Rejects" and 'Chop-Top' Sawyer in "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2".

Before filming picks back up, the filmmakers are holding a contest to give four people the opportunity to have their image appear in the movie.

Contest winners will not appear in person, but their photo will be in a sinister family album that shows up in the film.

To apply for the contest, here are the rules:

The photo must be of the person entering when they were around the age of 10. Participants must be at least 18 or older.

According to the movie's Facebook page, every 1,000 post comments/likes and "Crepitus" page likes, the filmmakers will randomly choose one winner.

According to the film's IMDB page, it will be released October 15.

The screenplay for "Crepitus" was written by Eddie and Sarah Renner. The movie will be Haynze Whitmore's directorial debut for a feature film. Eddie and Haynze are both from Cheboygan.

Eddie now lives in St. Petersburg, Florida and Haynze currently lives in Cheboygan.
