In the movie, a young African American manplayed by Daniel Kaluuyavisits his white girlfriend's family and soon realizes that many black residents on the estate have went missing.

This film isactor Jordan Peele's directing debut.

I definitely take a devilish glee in putting something thats not politically correct into the mainstream, Peele says with a laugh to USA Today.

Rotten Tomatoes states the critics' consensus as: " Funny, scary, and thought-provoking, Get Out seamlessly weaves its trenchant social critiques into a brilliantly effective and entertaining horror/comedy thrill ride."

Originally, Get Out dealt with "the fears of being an outsider"but morphed into focusing on race.

On the choice, Peele says: "It just seemed to be a very taboo piece of the discussion to talk about something so horrific as racism in any type of genre other than a film about slavery or something."

Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer aggregates reviews from critics to create "a trusted measure of movie and TV programming quality for millions of moviegoers." Movies with more positive reviews are given a higher percentage. Sixty percent or higher is a fresh review, and rotten is below 59%.

I feel a greater sense of duty than I ever have, Peele continues to USA Today. Art, genre and comedy are important pieces of the conversation and can often incite cathartic moments for all of us.
