2019 had some of the most memorable movies and shocking endings like that in Avengers: Endgame, The Lighthouse, John Wick 3. In horror, we saw directors take the genre to new lengths with movies like Midsummer, Us, and Brightburn.

But not all movies exceeded expectations, some were so bad, the team behind the films lost money or were torn apart by the viewers. Websites like Box Office Mojo help us determines what movies are worth watching and others that might be better left unseen. Here are the 10 worst horror movies of 2019.
This next movie is inspired by true events and the shocking murder of the up and coming to actress Sharon Tate at the hands of the Manson family.
Played by Hilary Duff, we see the shocking premonitions and helplessness of the actress as she struggles to get out while being pregnant. But the acting, the poor portrayals, and the inaccurate recollection take away from the story and make this one of the worst movies of 2019, making less than 20 thousand dollars.
In the past few years, Stephen King's novels have turned into classics with successful franchises like It, The Shining, and Shawshank Redemption. but with the latest installment on his literary work, unfortunately, missed the mark and got some not so pleasant reviews.

Although the movie did well in the box office making $112 million on a $21 million budget the movie still left a lot to be desired, with the movie leaving a lot of the original plot out and almost completely changing up the story.
This movie deals with creatures who are triggered by sound, causing everyone to go silent. Sound familiar? As the plot to A Quiet Place, this movie is nowhere near as successful as its counterpart proving that recipe for success isnt copying the plot completely.
Starring Kiernan Shipka and Stanley Tucci, there were high expectations for the movie but it, unfortunately, fell very short of expectations. With Bird Box and A Quiet Place finding success, this one just couldn't.
This next movie is based on the Mexican urban legend on the spirit of a woman doomed to forever search for her missing children. Although most believe in the spirit of La Llorona, it wasnt enough to get the positive reviews as it sunk down to one of the worst movies of 2019.
Maybe it was the bland retelling or the predictable jump scares but the movie just wasnt well-liked despite making more than enough for a sequel and even a trilogy. We should just stick to retelling the story instead of making movies out of it.
Starring star of the Netflix hit You Elizabeth Lail plays a nurse who falls victim to an app that counts down the moments before you die, causing her to run for her life to avoid death.

In a very Final Destination sort of way the movie revolves on the fear of death and shows it in a very cheesy way. We cant help but laugh at some of the moments instead of being scared.
When it's not a charming stalker its a race against time with Elizabeth Lail characters.
Remakes are often touchups of classic films made better with the use of technology today. Unfortunately better isnt quite the word wed use for describing Jacobs Ladder.
Although the symbolism and metaphors of the movie, showing PTSD and mental health, it wasnt very well portrayed and fell well short of horror fans' expectations. All the unnecessary effects and the 180 from the classic film didn't sit well with the fans.
The Sequel to Happy Death Day, the movie follows the same main character as she once again tries to escape death and avoid her untimely end at the hands of the mysterious killer. The similarities between the two movies were too obvious and it was quite clear they ran out of ideas from the first movie.

Although it had a bigger budget than the first, it made nowhere near as much as the first, only making $64 million worldwide versus the twice as much in the first movie.
Its safe to say there might not be a third movie.
Inspired by the trend, Escape Room is about six strangers who put their smarts to the test to escape a room with their lives and win the grand prize. Each stranger has a story and is nothing like each other, which makes working together even harder. Its a game of stakes and things dont look so good for the strangers.
Lacking a good story and a confusing plot, many missed out on the movie and left negative reviews, making this movie a box office bomb and one of the worst of the year. It relied on the popularity of the escape room trend and fell flat. Part of the reason people didn't like it was because of the similarities with theSawFranchise.
The Prodigy is a nightmare for all parents, following a young boy who starts showing promise at a very young age. When he starts becoming erratic and unpredictable, his parents soon realize they are in way over their heads in raising him. It's them protecting the world from their kid instead of the other way around.
Although the movie had some great potential, it still fell short of their expectations, only racking up $21 million worldwide. 2019 was a year of competition for movies and this one doesnt come close to the success of others.
Tone Deaf is a movie that takes on the satire of the unwritten rivalry between baby boomers and Millenials. It had all the humor of the rivalry and not a lot of scare. The movie follows a woman (Millenial) who tries to rediscover herself in rural America andunknowingly falls victim to a psychopathic man (boomer).
The film oftenstruggles to balance between comedy and horror, offering bad humor in serious moments and missing the mark when they couldve had comedic moments. Like most of the movies on this list, Tone Deafhad high expectations but fell terribly short.
