This Unknown Horror Movie Just Nabbed The #1 Spot On Netflix From Project Power – Forbes

'1BR' stole the #1 spot away from 'Project Power' today on Netflix's Top 10 list for movies.

This morning, I was all ready to write an article about how Project Power could be on pace to break a legendary Netflix NFLX record. As I noted a few days ago, the Jamie Foxx movie became just the second film to ever spend at least ten days in the #1 position on Netflixs Daily Top 10 list for movies (the first movie to pull off a double-digit streak was Spenser Confidential). And yesterday, Project Power had stretched that streak to 13 days.

But today, a new movie sat in that top spota movie, Im guessing, not very many people have seen.

That movie was the relatively unknown horror flick 1BR. Released in 2019, the film follows a woman who moves to Los Angeles for a fresh start. But in her new apartment complex, her neighbors turn out to be different than what they seem.

1BR has been on the rise since its Netflix premiere five days ago. The horror movie opened in the #5 position on the Daily Top 10surprising for a movie that, currently, only has 67 ratings on Rotten Tomatoes from critics. While 1BR owns a respectable 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its score is only 56% on MetaCritic. Plus, the audience ratings for the movie on Rotten Tomatoes sits at a paltry 59%.

Still, that hasnt stopped 1BR from rising all the way to #1 over the course of five days. After achieving the #2 position yesterday, 1BR became the first movie to steal the top spot away from Project Power since the Jamie Foxx action flick debuted on August 14.

In its first five days, that brings 1BRs point total to 39, which comes to an average of about eight points per day (you can read more about our Netflix points system here) of the maximum possible ten points per day available. 1BR has already risen to fifteenth place on the Monthly Top 10 rankings.

If 1BR can continue to hold onto that #1 positionor at least one of the top three positionsthen the horror movie should move into the Monthly Top 10 by August 31.
