Prime Video has just added 25 very big movies to its library – JOE.ie

There is some great new and original stuff still to come to Amazon Prime Video throughout the rest of August - including a new superhero movie starring Sylvester Stallone - but they've also added this bountiful list of movies for you to enjoy, too...

HANNIBAL RISING

The prequel which casts Gaspard Ulliel as a young Hannibal Lecter, explaining how he came to be the cannibal we all know and love and fear. 16% on Rotten Tomatoes, just FYI.

THE HAUNTING OF SHARON TATE

Hilary Duff stars as Sharon Tate in this part-fictional, part-based-on-a-true-story retelling of the Tate Murders in 1969. 19% on Rotten Tomatoes, just FYI.

THE HOBBIT TRILOGY

An Unexpected Journey, The Desolation Of Smaug and The Battle Of The Five Armies are all available to watch back-to-back, should you so desire.

THE HOLE

Comedy-horror maestro Joe Dante directs this supernatural thriller about a family who move into a new home, discover a trap door in their basement, and foolishly open it up. It is actually a pretty decent scary movie.

HUMAN TRAFFIC

A bit of a cult classic set against the rave scene in Cardiff. You'll either love it or hate it.

THE KING'S SPEECH

No, we'll never forgive it for winning the Best Picture Oscar over The Social Network, Inception, The Fighter, Black Swan or Toy Story 3, but having said this, this is still a very watchable comedy drama.

KNOWING

Nicolas Cage is worried his child may have predicted the end of the world as we know it. A very weird apocalyptic thriller, with one of the best plane crash sequences in cinema history.

LAW ABIDING CITIZEN

Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx headline this very violent, very stupid action thriller.

LIZZIE

Despite the star-heavy cast - Chlo Sevigny, Kristen Stewart, Fiona Shaw, Denis O'Hare - and an attention-grabbing plot about real-life axe murders, we'd never actually heard of this movie before. Reviews indicate that it is aggressively average.

LOOK AWAY

Another one we'd never heard of, starring Mira Sorvino and Jason Isaacs, this is a horror movie about a woman who finds herself suddenly switched with her evil mirror image. 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, so probably for the best we'd not seen it.

LOOPER

This is more like it. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt headline this sci-fi action thriller about an assassin who, thanks to time travel, has been hired to kill his older self.

THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS

A great cast - George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey - adapting a great book telling the true stories about how the US military tried to implement psychic powers into their arsenal. The end product is only okay.

MISSISSIPPI GRIND

Ryan Reynolds, Ben Mendelsohn, Sienna Miller and Alfre Woodard headline this under-appreciated dramedy set within the world of run-down casinos. 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

MISS YOU ALREADY

Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore star as sisters in this comedy drama that will 100% have you crying before the end.

MOONFALL

One of the most bonkers blockbusters of recent years, if not of all time, and also one of the most expensive flops ever. It isn't a good film, but it is an accidentally very entertaining film.

THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES

There was a time when the world was pretty much ruled by adaptations of young adult novels. This is one of the worst of those. So many great, famous actors. Such a bad film.

THIRTEEN LIVES

Colin Farrell, Viggo Mortensen and Joel Edgerton star in this real-life thriller based around the young boys' football team that was trapped in a flooded cave system in Thailand. We chatted to Colin about his role in the movie, and you can check that interview out in full right here:

THE TWILIGHT SAGA

All five of them. Enjoy.

VACATION

Ed Helms and Christina Applegate star in this very funny reboot of the Vacation comedy series. Didn't get nearly enough love when it was initially released.

THE YOUNG VICTORIA

The director of Big Little Lies, the writer of Downton Abbey, and starring Emily Blunt as Queen Victoria in her early life. It looks great, Blunt is great, but it isn't always super interesting.
