With 24-Hour Horror Fest Canceled, Music Box Theatre Bringing 31 Nights Of Scary Movies To Pilsen Drive-In – Block Club Chicago

PILSEN The Music Box Theatres annual horror movie festival is taking over the drive-in this October with 31 nights of scary movies.

Chi-Town Movies Drive-in, 2342 S. Throop St., will host nightly late shows and double features from Music Boxs eclectic collection of horror films, according to an announcement from the theater.

The festival runs Oct. 131 and will feature specialized intros, pre-show content, filmmaker Q&As and other surprises from Music Box. The official lineup will be announced Sept. 3.

Tickets cost $30 per car for single features and $40 per car for double features, according to Music Box. Month-long passes are not available.

Music Box normally celebrates its 31 Nights of Terror festival with a 24-hour horror movie marathon at the theater, 3733 N. Southport Ave., but it had to cancel those plans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Chi-Town Movies Drive-In was launched in June by the ChiTown Futbol sports center as an alternative to going to movie theaters, which have been largely shut down by the coronavirus pandemic.
