Lauren Cohan is proving herself to be a continuous force to be reckoned with. The Hollywood actress first got her big break on the hit television show "The Walking Dead", playing the role of Maggie Greene.
It was not too long before she skyrocketed to A-list status after the show's immense level of success. While zombie shows may have been her calling, she is quite a talented woman. Cohan can not only act, but she is a great singer and a former professional swimmer, talk about being a triple threat!
In addition to her many talents, Lauren Cohan is extremely family-oriented and has nothing but love for her siblings, and her faith. Despite her success on AMC hit show, Lauren has also landed herself yet another lead role in an ABC show that is definitely worth tuning in for. With all that being said, here are 18 little known facts about Lauren Cohan.
Lauren Cohan was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, making her an American actress. However, many fans and viewers are oftentimes confused when they hear her speaking with a British accent. The star has commented on the confusion, sorting out the details and making it clear that she was, in fact, born here.
When it comes down to her British accent, Lauren Cohan understands why some people might be confused about why she is American but speaks with an accent. Well, while she may have been born in New Jersey, Cohan moved to the United Kingdom, as this is where her mother is from and was raised there until moving back to the United States to pursue acting.
At the age of 5, Laura Cohan's mother remarried and converted to Judaism, which in turn, made Cohan Jewish as well. The actress has spoken with Oprah Magazine regarding her faith, and while she does not claim to be religious, she does hold Jewish culture and tradition very close to her heart.
Not only has Lauren Cohan appeared in 'The Walking Dead', but she has also been in a few other television shows that deal with the undead. Prior to her break out role as Maggie Greene, the star worked on 'Vampire Diaries' and 'Supernatural', which might have actually helped her prepare for her role on the zombie-filled hit show.
If there is one thing that we love about Lauren Cohan is the fact that she is the biggest dog lover! The actress has even revealed that she would bring her dog to work with her on the set of 'The Walking Dead', and it turned into such a tradition that he was considered a part of the family.

While she may have only joined the second season of 'The Walking Dead', it's safe to say that she must have tuned into the show prior to joining it. Well, that's not true! Cohan revealed that prior to joining the second season of the show, she had never watched a single episode!
Considering her resume is full of scary shows and films, it would only make sense for her favourite holiday to be Halloween! Lauren Cohan adores the spooky holiday, not so much for the scare factor, but because she loves to dress up. The star has a huge love for dressing up as characters from the Addams Family.
Despite her love for Halloween and starring in not one, but three paranormal, undead themed shows, Lauren Cohan is petrified of horror films! The actress said that working on these projects wasn't easy, and took a lot of time to adjust to the storylines and separating what was real from fake.
While she may be one heck of an actress, it appears that was not always her calling. Lauren Cohan spoke with Oprah Magazine and revealed that her passion throughout her adolescence was swimming. She has a room full of swimming trophies and medals and definitely would have considered pursuing the sport further.

In addition to practically being a professional swimmer, Lauren Cohan also mentioned that she is quite the vocalist. She is aware that she is no Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey, but she loves the arts and has always taken a liking to music, and claims to be able to carry a tune really well.
Lauren Cohan is single and appears to be ready to mingle! The actress has yet to be in a serious public relationship, however, she definitely has a type, one that might take you by surprise. Cohan revealed that she is without a doubt into older men, and has always had a crush on actor, Jeff Bridges.
Considering Lauren Cohan has worked on 'The Walking Dead', which was a comic prior to being a television show, it's only fitting for her to like comic books. While the zombie comics may not be her favourite, she let her fans in on a little secret, and revealed that she collects comics, and is a fan of one in particular!
When it comes to comic books, Lauren Cohan does not shy away from revealing her favourites. If you didn't guess it already, the star is a massive fan of the Batman comics, and says her all-time favourite character is none other than the mega villain, joker! While she didn't pick 'The Walking Dead', we certainly respect her love for Batman.

Being a star on "The Walking Dead" is not an easy task! The role requires a lot of movement, action-packed scenes and choreographed fights that are not for the faint of heart. With all that being said, Lauren Cohan keeps quite a busy workout schedule. The actress is training in the gym with her personal trainer up to four times a week!
Some of Lauren's fans might know this fact, however, if you are a recent fan or casual viewer of 'The Walking Dead', then you might not know that Cohan comes from a very big family! The actress is one of six kids, and has a place in her heart for all five of her younger siblings, most of whom are sisters!
While "The Walking Dead" will always be Lauren Cohan's big break, it does not appear as if she is stopping anytime soon. It was announced that she landed the lead role in ABC's new show "Whiskey Cavalier", appearing alongside Scott Foley, Tyler James Williams and Ana Ortiz.
Yet another incredible fact of Lauren Cohan is that she actually performs all of her own stunts! The star sat down with Us Magazine and revealed that she does all her stunts in both "The Walking Dead" and "Whiskey Cavalier", which makes sense as to why she is in the gym so much.
While Jeff Bridges might be her Hollywood crush, there is one person that she will always have as her number one, and that is none other than the legendary, Bruce Springsteen. The star revealed to Us Magazine that she is a massive fan of Bruce and his music, and will always be one.
