Actor Who Plays Negan In ‘The Walking Dead’ Disses Trump On Twitter – Konbini US

For the last few days, the conservative town of Charlottesville, Virginia has been at the forefront of the news. And it's not for its prestigious university or for Thomas Jefferson's former home at Monticello, but for much sadder reasons.

As most of us know by now, a violent extreme-right rally made up of Ku Klux Klan members and neo-Nazis led to tragedy four days ago when a terrorist drove a car into a group of anti-racist counter protesters, killing one and injuring dozens.

To make it all worse, the current President of the United States has taken a rather ambiguous stance on the hate-filled gathering.

Rather than condemn their racist actions, Donald Trump has chosen to accuse both sides of inciting violence, placing white supremacist Nazis on par with leftist anti-racists.

As a result, people all over the country have been skewering the president for promoting hatred and racism, including many Hollywood actors, directors and celebrities.

But none of the statements were quite so scathing as this one by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan inThe Walking Dead.

The emotional words sound a lot like Negan dropping F-bombs. But behind the insults, Jeffrey Dean Morgan makes an important point about the terrifying normalization of racism in the United States.

The act of terrorism should have been clearly and firmly condemned by the president, but rather than speaking out against Nazism in our country, and rather than paying tribute to Heather Heyer, Trump chose to compare the alt-right to some imaginary alt-left, while just barely conceding that "racism is bad."

Thanks for your brilliant remarks, Mr. President. That's about as obvious as a zombie coming at you in The Walking Dead.
