Andrew Lincoln Says He Has Still Never Watched THE WALKING DEAD, But Is Eager to Get Back to Playing Rick Grimes – GeekTyrant

The Walking Dead has run for ten seasons on AMC and gained a huge following and two spin-off series, with a feature film in its near future. Almost everyone has seen at least part of the series, but that does not include star of the series, Andrew Lincoln, who famously played Rick Grimes since episode one, and disappeared in the middle of season nine.

The other characters in the series assumed that Rick had died, but fans watched as Rick was taken away by a secretive group in a helicopter. We will see what happened to the character when the new spin-off series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond leads us to the film that has promised to resolve his storyline. But as the world watches the series, its spin-offs, and even the film that centers around his character, Lincoln has never watched any of it, and he has no desire to do so.

In a 2017 interview with TV Insider, Lincoln said of watching the show, Couldnt bear it. I dont watch the show at all. I am allergic to my own face. And in case you think maybe he picked up watching the show while in quarantine, The Walking Dead writer and executive producer Scott M. Gimple confirmed, No, he has not watched it, at the series virtual Comic-Con@Home panel. He added, "I will say, one time I was doing a DVD commentary with him on an episode he wasn't in, 'The Grove.' Five minutes into it, I was like, 'You're not watching this, are you?' He's like, 'No, no I'm not.'

To each their own! I think its a pretty typical thing for actors not to watch their own work. It would be hard for him to remove himself from the equation and enjoy the show for what it is. Too bad though, because I think the series is pretty great.

But aside from not watching the show, Lincoln is ready to get back to work. Gimple told CB during the Comic-Con weekend that Lincoln is "itching to get back" to theWalking DeadUniverse, and the star is "super involved" and "very, very interested." So thats the good news, and we also cant wait for the star to get back to work and bring us the continuation of the Rick Grimes story!
