Cult classic The Boondock Saints with Norman Reedus trending on Twitter – Undead Walking

Before he was a Dixon brother on The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus played one of the twin MacManus brothers in the movie The Boondock Saints.Reedus stared with close friend Sean Patrick Flannery and the two portrayed Irish Catholic brothers Murphy and Connor MacManus, respectively. Today, this film that has received quite the cult following finds itself trending on Twitter.

How does a film that is over twenty years old find itself trending on a platform that didnt even exist when it was released?

Podcaster@Truthfully_Mikeposted a simple photo of a stack of DVDs, which included The Boondock Saints film, and posed the question, Whats the first one you would pick and watch? Then the Twittersphere went crazy in support of this fantastic film.

Fans posted their favorite scenes from the film along with gifs, tattoos, merch, memes and gave this writer and fan of the film a great article to write up.

Then, the haters got involved. Which caused the fans to retaliate, and it was an all-out war. Ok, not really a war, but strong words were exchanged!

People posted that they were today years old when they realized people didnt like this movie.

Whats not to like?

Reedus and Flannery are outstanding together in this film. The brothers kill some Russian gangsters in self-defense and then feel God calls them to rid their hometown of the criminals who reside there.There are gunfights, gangsters, vigilante justice, along with comedic moments that will leave you rolling.They are joined by an amazing supporting cast including David Della Rocco, Billy Connolly, Gerald Parkes and William Defoe who plays FBI agent Paul Smecker, who is on the hunt for these two brothers who have become heroes in their Boston community.

If you have never seen this movie or its sequel,The Boondock Saints: All Saints Day, you should most definitely check them out.

So, it was an interesting day on Twitter as fans remembered the MacManus brothers, the actors and the film with the loyal cult following, The Boondock Saints.

Next up, theWalking Deadfans will see Norman Reedus reprise his character, Daryl Dixon, in the final episodes of season ten of that series. Reedus will also appear in the eleventh and final season of TWD and then he will be featured in a Carol and Daryl centric spinoff series.
