Gin Made With Wild Blackberries and a Hollywood Pedigree – The New York Times

An excellent stand-in for sloe gin in that bright summer fizz is the Blackberry Gin from MF Libations. The wild blackberries come from Mischief Farm, in Rhinebeck, N.Y., the 100-acre property owned by the actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan, best known for his role as Negan on The Walking Dead, and Hilarie Burton Morgan, who portrayed Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill. Its a working farm with an oversupply of cute thanks to a rescued donkey and emu sharing the pastures with Highland cattle, alpacas, ducks and geese. The pale pink gin, infused with blackberries to provide a fruity finish, is made for Mischief Farms MF Libations by Vale Fox Distillery in nearby Poughkeepsie. Also from MF Libations is Bonfire Smoky Rye Whiskey, a honeyed, brooding spirit infused with Chinese black Lapsang souchong tea to accompany smores for grown-ups on a summer evening, or to please a lover of Islay Scotch. Dad would qualify.

MF Libations Blackberry Gin, $39 for 750 milliliters, Bonfire Smoky Rye Whiskey, $47, to order for delivery starting this month, mflibations.com.
