Here’s What Happened To Daryl Dixon’s Motorcycle From The Walking Dead – HotCars

It's only Daryls motorcycles that make some sense, in terms of practicality and usage, especially since theres a place for his crossbow in them.

There are three motorcycles in contention, here, mostly because Norman Reedus hated horses and decided his steed was going to be a mechanical one. One of them is the current one that Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, rides whilst slaying zombies with his crossbow. The second one is a Honda. The earlier one is a Triumph Bonnevilleand is the ultimate chopper. Well talk about all three here, plus another plot hole that fans cannot seem to get over.

But these are the three motorcycles that saved the show, automobile-wise. The rest of the rag-tag group of vehicles in the show is nothing, including the weird Winnebago and that out-of-place Hyundai Tucson. Or even the Suburban for that matter. Its the apocalypse, and most of the world is either running, dead, being eaten, or turned into zombies. All one has to do is go to the nearest dealer and take a brand new and powerful car off the ramp and onto the road to rescue or deliverance, right?

It's only Daryls motorcycles that make some sense, in terms of practicality and usage, especially since theres a place for his crossbow in them.

So lets talk about Daryl Dixons motorcycle fromThe Walking Dead.

The first of the motorcycles that Daryl Dixon rode was a chopped Triumph Bonneville TR6C that some websites saywas from the '60s, whilst others say was a 1971 or even 1976 model.

Chopped into a hardtail with MX tires. this Triumph looked "gnarly" as Reedus himself put it. Whatever may be the case, the motorcycle looked rad and fit perfectly in the dystopian of the violent landscape of the TV series that takes some gumption to watch, especially alone.

Speaking vehicle wise, it makes sense. The motorcycle is not full of sophisticated equipment that needs tons of parts from here, there, and everywhere to be repaired. It's a basic Triumph and one that took the company to new heights at the time.

Its a kickstart and as basic as they come, perfect for the show.In the series, this motorcycle was said to belong to Daryls brother, Merle, who was part of a motorcycle gang.As the series unfolds, the Triumph was abandoned after the group escapes from prison.

The production company seems to have still kept a hold of the motorcycle, for now, considering the teaser of season six showed this motorcycle still standing at the prison where it was abandoned in the first place. It makes senseto hold on to the Triumph Bonneville since the show is still on and perhaps even reintroduce it at a later point?

Once the Triumph was abandoned, it was time for a new steed for Dixon. And the story was woven around it as well.

Thesecond motorcycle that Daryl Dixon rides on is a 1992 Honda CB750 Nighthawk, though, in truth, there are two of these machines, crossbow mount included, put together by Richmond-based Classified Moto. Why this moto shop? Because Norman Reedus already owns a Classified Moto bike, personally, and decided that the wizard of the shop, John Ryland, could make some kickass additions to the show.

The front end comes from a Yamaha YZF-R6 and this was the motorcycle Daryl seemingly built out of a surplus of motorcycle parts way back in season six. It was seen last in the fifteenth episode of season eight and was then abandoned by Daryl in a bid to escape.

Both motorcycles have been unheard of since then, although you could call Classified Moto and pester them to build you one just like it. It seems that the production company of The Walking Dead is keeping a rather tight watch on their very popular motorcycles.

The latest motorcycle that Daryl rides is a rather underrated but coolKTM 525 EXC and fans are loving its steampunk look as well, although not much is known about its makers. Again, pretty gnarly in its own right, the KTM debuted in season nine after the Nighthawk was abandoned in the earlier season. It has continued to be Dixon's steed in season 10 as well, and since season 11 has been renewed, we expect to see it again pretty soon.

The one plothole that many motorcycle viewers seem to have a problem with when it comes to Daryl Dixon and his motorcycles; is the fuel that goes into powering them.

Motorcycle fuel, like all vehicular fuels, has a shelf life. And no one seems to be drilling for oil in The Walking Dead which means the fuel that Daryl seems to have an unlimited supply of is bad. Is that the reason why he keeps abandoning those motorcycles in favor of new ones?

Hes already moved from the Triumph Bonneville to the Honda CB750 Nighthawk, and now its the KTM 525 EXC. What will season 11 bring around? Especially since 2022 may just be the last of The Walking Deadas the pandemic is nearly making us live a fact far stranger than fiction.
