Morgan Is Now The Walking Dead’s Deadliest Character – Screen Rant

The Fear the Walking Dead season 6 midseason finale transformed Morgan Jones (Lennie James) into the Walking Dead universe's most deadly character.

The midseason finale Fear the Walking Dead season 6 has made it clear that Morgan Jones (Lennie James) is the Walking Dead universes deadliest fighter. Based on what the show has revealed Morgan to be capable of, its difficult to imagine any existing Walking Dead character being able to beat him in a fight.

In Fear the Walking Dead season 6, episode 7, Damage from the Inside, a convoy of Virginias rangers was attacked, presumably by a group of enemies. At first, it was suspected that the perpetrators could be the same group that Sherry (Christina Evangelista) is aligned with, but this was not the case. The truth about what really happened was revealed later in the episode when Morgan came onto the scene. Apparently, Morgan attacked the convoy, and it was this act that led to Dakota (Zoe Colletti) going missing. After an initial disagreement over what to do next, Morgan ended up leaving for his new base with Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), and Dakota in tow, while Strand (Colman Domingo) elected to stay with the Pioneers.

What Morgan did offscreen against the Pioneers in this episode proves that hes the best fighter across all three Walking Dead shows. Theres a good reason why it was assumed that multiple people took out the convoy. There were at least ten armed rangers guarding it, yet somehow one man took them all down - without guns. The only weapon Morgan used is the axe that hes been carrying since the end of the Fear the Walking Dead season 6 premiere. This feat is typically something that viewers might expect from a superhero or martial arts TV series; the fact that it happened in The Walking Dead makes it particularly impressive.

Granted, Morgan most assuredly had the benefit of the element of surprise when he ambushed them, but that can only get him so far against almost a dozen men. Despite the odds, Morgan cut through them and emerged from the brutal and bloody fight unscathed. His past experience with martial arts at least partially accounts for this. Having been trained in Aikido in flashbacks featured in The Walking Dead season 6, it was no secret that Morgan was a skilled martial artist and an expert in the staff, but he wasnt unbeatable. He actually lost a one-on-one fight with Jesus (Tom Payne) in season 8.

Clearly, Morgan has improved a great deal since those days. He had temporarily given up his peaceful lifestyle during the All-Out War, but Morgan is even more deadly now than he was then, due in large part to his new axe. Its also possible that the training he does in private has sharpened his skills further. Since Morgan is without a question a force to be reckoned with, Virginia (Colby Minifie) and the rest of the Pioneers have a lot to be worried out about in the back half of Fear the Walking Dead season 6.
