The cast ofThe Walking Dead has gathered to announce the series' return in 2021. A new promo features several cast members reading a scene from the upcoming episode "Home Sweet Home".
Thescene in question features Maggie Greene reuniting with Carol and Daryl as they discuss the fate of Negan. Carol says thatshe freed Negan from his jail cell in order to turn the tide against the Whisperers. "Wewere going to lose everything. Negan's the reason we didn't."

Maggie thenreveals that she left in order to stop Negan from taking up any more space in her mind, so that she wouldn't be consumed by vengeance."The truth is, I left home because I didn't want Negan taking up any more space in my head, and I realized I wasn't ready to bring Hershel back to that," she says before departing.
"Home Sweet Home" will be one of six bonus episodes for Season 10 airing in 2021, as production was cut short due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. One of these episodes will be a flashback to Negan's life before the apocalypse, featuring his wife Lucille. Filming will also begin on Season 11, which is meant to wrap up the show.
The Walking Deadstars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews.
