Will The Vampire Diaries Season 9 be renewed? When there is any probability, when does it occur? Will Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, and Nina Dobrev reprise their roles? Since its finale dropped in March 2017 these concerns continue to haunt fans.

Rumors are currently fuelling fans expectations on The Vampire Diaries Season 9. One is that the ninth season is going to be released in March 2021 on The CW. Another rumor fuelled fans expectations that the ninth season would be composed of 22 episodes. Some claim that Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson will direct the season.

There were rumors of the series being restored after the cancellation for a year 9. Series programmer Julie Plec said that no plans are being made and has denied rumors, while fans were hopeful that this could well be true.

It can be possible considering how things were left in year 8, while there is no confirmation about yet another year yet. In addition, the conflicts and animosity between the two brothers along with the chaos caused by the Mystic Falls by Katherine may give way to a different brand new plot for a brand new season.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder would have returned to their characters if the series gets revived the cast including Paul Weasley while the Showrunner has several other details to discuss. The story will pick up how it had been left of. While no cast members have yet talked about the show renewed. We wonder how do they respond in the first place!

Moreover, given the shows overwhelming popularity and the dominance it had over as many as eight seasons, a resurrection wont be a bad idea after all! Two spinoff shows had been left behind by the series but we do want the major cast return for year 9! Fans will love that!
