Ray Fisher Slams Joss Whedon Again Amidst ‘Justice League’ And ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Controversy – Mashable India

Zack Snyder was making Justice League back in 2017 but left the director's chair to deal with the loss of his daughter. Warner Bros. made way for Joss Whedon to complete the movie, which allegedly involved overseeing some VFX work and editing. However, nobody knows what happened and the entire movie was reworked almost from scratch and we got the abomination that we got. And I can say it's an abomination because the trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League looks like a completely different movie. Now, with this as ammunition and the controversy around Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cyborg actor has re-launched his attack on Whedon.

Here's a little recap. Back in 2020, Ray Fisher was one of the first and only actors who shone some light on Whedon's misbehaviour on the sets of Justice League and how that was all enabled by Warner Bros. executives Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. This was followed by a shady investigation into the case which eventually led to the removal of Fisher from The Flash movie. This was also the time when the Snyder Cut was gaining momentum. Once it was confirmed, Fisher probably got some form of relief after knowing the extent to which Whedon had butchered his role. And on top of all that, the cast and crew of Buffy the Vampire Slayer came together to accuse Whedon of similar behaviour.

According to Screenrant, Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Charisma Carpenter took to Twitter to recount how Whedon repeatedly threatened to fire her, called her fat in front of their co-workers when she was four months pregnant, and pitted people against one another to compete for his approval. Stunt coordinator Jeff Pruitt and stuntwoman Sophia Crawford followed suit and talked about Whedon's abuse in detail. They also said that they had to leave production after Season 4 of Buffy because Whedon reportedly told Crawford that she could stay on as Buffy's stunt double only if she agreed to stop dating Pruitt. Since then, James Marsters, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michelle Trachtenberg, and many more have confirmed that Whedon is a piece of shit (Pardon my Swedish).

So, just in case everyone was beginning to forget that Zack Snyder's Justice League isn't just about bringing Snyder's vision to life but also about Whedon's abuse and how it was promoted by Warner Bros. execs, Fisher tweeted out about it under his signature Accountability > Entertainment banner. In addition to that, he released a lengthy video on his Instagram account hyping up the trailer, HBO Max, and urging everyone to go watch and support Zack Snyder's movie. Here they are...

Theres only one reason that I havent been sued by Joss Whedon, Toby Emmerich, Geoff Johns, Jon Berg, or Walter Hamada:

They know Im telling the truth.

Now, you might be wondering that what's the point of all this? Buffy the Vampire Slayer happened so many years ago. Zack Snyder's Justice League is coming out and that practically nullifies its previous version. So, why should one go out of their way to attack Whedon and the people who have enabled him? Well, that's exactly why. Powerful white men enabling white men has to stop. They don't have a monopoly on entertainment. And if they want to, they should be held accountable for their actions so that no one coming into the industry can be harmed by them. That's simply it. It's pretty bold for Fisher that he's heading such a movement so early in his career and is inching closer to justice, thereby making safe spaces for so many actors from minority communities who are looking to make a career in movies and shows.
