Iconic The Cranberries song Zombie hits 1 billion views on YouTube – The Jakarta Post – Jakarta Post

The music video of Zombie of 90s alternative rock band The Cranberries exceeded 1 billion views on YouTube recently, making it the third video from the 90s rock era to do so.

The single from the bands 1994 album No Need to Argue joins November Rain of Guns n Roses and Smells like Teen Spirit of Nirvana in the super elite 1 billion club of the worlds biggest video-sharing platform.

Unlike popular misconception, Zombie is actually a protest song by the Irish band in reference to the 1993 IRA bombing in Warrington, and in memory of two young victims, Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry.

The remastered music video was published on YouTube on June 16, 2009.
